THE MEXICAN SARDINE RUN
On the wild Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, a land where sandy dunes stretch endlessly, mangroves thrive, and lagoons cradle life, nature sets the stage for one of its grandest shows. These tranquil lagoons, soon teeming with majestic gray whales and a myriad of migratory birds, are just the beginning. Beyond their calm embrace lies the vast ocean, its surface shimmering with an otherworldly blue
a portal to the extraordinary. Here, in this remote corner of Mexico, a raw and untamed spectacle unfolds, drawing only the most intrepid souls.
CABO PULMO
Your journey continues with 8 dives in Cabo Pulmo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most remarkable marine reserves in the world. Once a depleted fishery, this region has made a stunning recovery thanks to decades of protection and conservation efforts.
SWIMMING WITH WHALESHARKS
The Gulf of California is home to one of Mexico's two whale shark aggregations, making it one of the most important hot spots for this endangered species worldwide. Thanks to its unique geographic location and oceanographic conditions, La Paz provides unparalleled opportunities to encounter these gentle giants. Despite being sharks, whale sharks are completely harmless and truly awe inspiring.
Joining the Baja California Sur expedition in November or December offers a front-row seat to one of nature's most dynamic spectacles: the Mexican Sardine Run in Magdalena Bay. This is the prime time to witness massive sardine shoals attracting predators like striped marlins, sea lions, whales and mahi mahi, creating breathtaking underwater action.
The conditions during this season—calm seas and excellent visibility—are perfect for diving and snorkeling. It’s also a unique opportunity to explore Baja’s stunning landscapes, from vibrant marine life to picturesque desert coastlines, making this an unforgettable expedition for adventure and nature enthusiasts alike.
